Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) is the first free zone and one of the largest business parks in the region with over 7,100 companies trading and serving local and global markets. Its list of licensees includes over 130 Fortune 500 companies. JAFZA is spread over an area of 48 sq. kms and offers licensees offices, custom warehouses, land, business centres, showrooms and on-site residences, hotels, a convention centre and retail facilities.
The 3 license categories available at JAFZA are as follows:
Trading: For activities involving import, export, distribution and storage. There is also a General Trading License which encompasses broader items and related activities.
Service: For services specified on the license within the Free Zone. A Logistics License includes cargo shipping, warehousing, storage, packing and distribution.
Industrial: To import raw materials, manufacture and export finished products. A National Industrial License, issued for manufacturing companies with at least 51% AGCC ownership allows the holder the same status as a local inside the UAE.
License types for Investor to choose from include a Free Zone Company for 2 to 5 shareholders, a Free Zone Establishment for single shareholders or a Branch for existing companies wishing to establish a base in JAFZA.
