Seminar on Emerging Trends in Islamic & Conventional Banking: A Rendezvous with Experts
With the global economy continuing to make headwinds across the developed and emerging markets, the banking sector continues to occupy a significant position among all the stakeholders including policy makers, corporate executives, and academics.
The promulgations following the global financial crisis of 2008 have prompted banks to recalibrate their strategies both on risk management as well as consumer banking. The metamorphosis of technology within the financial sector has redefined the rules of the game. At the same time, the growing need for ‘Ethical Finance’ has led to rapid development of the Islamic Banking sector. With Islamic Banking valued at USD 1.66 trillion projected to achieve an annual growth rate of 20%, a wealth of opportunities lies ahead. And with Dubai envisioning to become the ‘Capital of Islamic Economy’, the scope of Islamic Banking is enormous both within the UAE and the wider MENA region.
