Summer is upon us!! What to do?

The summer is definitely in full swing and the weather is really getting hot. With temperatures soaring over 40 degrees, you’re likely not to spend too much time outdoors. Here are some ideas for activities that will keep you cool.

You can really spend an entire day indoors, and not run out of things to do. Have breakfast at one of the many little cafés, go ice skating, visit the Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, have lunch in the food court, indulge in a little shopping and take a ride up Burj Khalifa for stunning views of the city. End the day by dining at one of the restaurants overlooking the majestic Dubai Fountain.

Hop on board a Big Bus Tour. Sit in the comfort of an air conditioned double-decker while you experience the sights of Dubai on a day or night tour. You can choose from a beach tour or a city tour, and you can get off and back on the bus as many times as you like to visit over 20 attractions like the Dubai Museum, Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Mosque, etc.

Feeling adventurous? Not afraid of heights? How about some indoor rock climbing? Head on over to Adventure HQ's Adventure Zone; with rates starting as low as AED 50, you can experience the Cable Climb or the Climbing Pinnacle. They also have a Ramadan offer going on, make sure you dont miss out.

Did you know that a colony of Gentoo penguins and King penguins live at Mall of the Emirates? Experience Ski Dubai’s Snow Penguins adventure and learn more about these cute critters. The Peng-Friend, Exclusive Peng-Friend or VIP Private Peng-Friend encounters will get you up-close to them. All mall visitors can also experience the "March of the Penguins" in the Snow Park. This occurs daily at 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm and 8 pm.

Although not as prominent as in other artistic destinations, there is definitely a lot to see in Dubai if you are into the arts scene. There are several galleries and museums in town that you might not have heard of. Check out The Empty Quarter which showcases work covering street photography, fine art, photojournalism, portraiture, abstract and poetic styles among others. The Mojo Gallery presents new artists through a contemporary approach. For a sophisticated gallery with prestigious talent, visit Ayyam Gallery. Got to our museums section for a complete listing.

Are you a sports fan? Why not visit Dubai Sports World that takes place every summer at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Activities include tennis tournaments, cycling competitions, basketball, football, zumba, the well-being zone, the Rage skatepark, and much more. Check out our event calendar for more details.
