The legendary ghost thriller ‘The Woman in Black’, one of the world’s most successful plays will return to Dubai this September/October due to popular demand, presented by the regions award-winning producer Popular Productions. The production will run at the Madinat Theatre, Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai for a limited season from 26th September to 2nd October.Now celebrating a record breaking 27th year in London’s West End ‘The Woman In Black’ is based on Susan Hill's best-selling novel, and is respected internationally as one of the most effective plays ever to be written with over 7 million people having seen the play. Adapted brilliantly for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt, it has been produced in over 40 countries and has thrilled audiences the world over with its heart-stopping story. In 2012, came the release of the big screen version starring Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe, which with its spectacular box office became the biggest selling UK horror movie of the last twenty years. This critically acclaimed production that sold out runs in Dubai in 2009, 2012 and 2015 features a fantastic cast from London’s West End in a richly compelling, dramatic staging of this chilling story.
A lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the spectre of a ‘Woman in Black’ engages a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul. It begins innocently enough, but as they reach further into his darkest memories the borders between make believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh creeps as the ‘Woman in Black’ reveals her terrible purpose.
The production is directed by John Payton with lighting by Paul Gould and Dan Creasey and set design by Cleo Pettitt. It is produced by Popular Productions, the company behind some of the UAE’s most successful productions in recent times including ‘Annie’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’, Stephen King’s ‘Misery’ featuring UK TV star Darren Day, the smash hit musical ‘Oliver!’ and the award winning production of ‘The Sound of Music’.

Javier Pena was brought up in Kingsville, Texas and in 1984 he joined the US DEA. Four years later the Retired Special Agent in Charge volunteered for an assignment in Bogota, Colombia. It was there that Pena and his partner, Special Agent Steve Murphy, set out to bring down the Medellin drug cartel and its leader Pablo Escobar.
Pena was awarded Colombia’s highest honor for his efforts, and received commendation awards from the DEA and the wider international community. He is regarded as an expert on the subject of the Medellin Cartel.

The Grammy award-winning Chamber Orchestra of Europe, led by renowned conductor Robin Ticciati and Christian Tetzlaff on violin - take to the stage in two incredible gala evenings featuring some of the greatest music composed by Mozart and Beethoven.
Widely renowned as one of the finest chamber orchestras in the world, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe has performed in some of the most prominent cultural venues in Europe, including the Philharmonie in Paris, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Baden-Baden Festspielhaus, the Cologne Philharmonie and the Alte Oper in Frankfurt. Having recorded more than 250 works with a host of major recording companies, it has won numerous international prizes including three Gramophone “Record of the Year” awards, two Grammys and the MIDEM “Classical Download” Award.
Robin Ticciati has been Principal Conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra since the 2009/10 season and the Music Director of Glyndebourne Festival Opera since Summer 2014. Born in London, Robin is a violinist, pianist and percussionist by training. He was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain when he turned to conducting, aged 15, under the guidance of Sir Colin Davis and Sir Simon Rattle. He was recently appointed ‘Sir Colin Davis Fellow of Conducting’ by the Royal Academy of Music.
Christian Tetzlaff has been one of the most sought-after violinists and exciting musicians on the classical music scene for many years. “The greatest performance of the work I’ve ever heard,” Tim Ashley wrote in the Guardian about his interpretation of the Beethoven Violin Concerto with Daniel Harding. Christian served as Artist in Residence with the Berlin Philharmonic, participated in a concert series over several seasons with New York’s Metropolitan Opera Orchestra under James Levine and appears regularly as a guest with such ensembles as the Vienna and New York Philharmonic Orchestras, the Concertgebouw Orchestra and London’s leading orchestras, working with leading conductors like Andris Nelsons, Robin Ticciati and Vladimir Jurowski. He has an unusually extensive repertoire and gives approximately 100 concerts every year.

ELTON JOHN POSTPONES DUBAI DATE DUE TO MEDICAL CONCERNSDUBAI, UAE:- 117Live has today announce that Sir Elton John will unfortunately have to postpone his January 20th 2017 show in Dubai for medical reasons.
Although not of a seriously threatening nature he has been advised by his doctors to schedule a medical procedure to treat his condition immediately.
Elton apologies to his Middle East fans but with the prompt assistance of the promoter 117Live, we have managed to secure the new concert date of December 8th 2017. Elton is looking forward to seeing you all there, and promises an amazing show.
For Fans still wishing to attend the show should retain their current tickets (they will remain valid) for the new date. For ticket holders unable to attend the new show date, a full refund will be made available from the point of purchase and subject to the terms & conditions of the ticket distributor, you will receive an email from your provider with all details. Please allow the ticketing companies a few days to respond to enquiries on the exact refund details.
