Al Barsha

Al Barsha is one of the newer areas of Dubai and is easily accessible from all the city's major arteries (Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road - formerly Emirates Rd.). It is situated close to major business districts such as Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Knowledge Village, Tecom and Emaar Business Park. The area is divided into Al Barsha (First, Second and Third) and Al Barsha South (One, Two and Three).

Residential

Al Barsha is considered an ideal place to live. Residents can pick between a number of apartment buildings, small gated villa communities as well as spacious standalone villas. There are many great schools in the area making it an ideal location for families with children to establish themselves. There is a mix of locals and expatriates who call this neighbourhood home.

There is also a lovely park with a running track that perimeters a man-made lake. Facilities include exercise machines, basketball and tennis courts as well as plenty of fun swings, slides and other games for the little ones.

If you are a tourist or visiting Dubai on business, there is no shortage of options for long term or short term accommodation in Al Barsha. There is something to suit every budget - from world-class luxury hotels (Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, Ibis Al Barsha, Holiday Inn) to more affordable hotels and hotel apartments (like Citymax Hotel, Dunes Hotel Apartments, Abidos).

Commercial

Al Barsha is home to many office buildings and small shops. However, the main attraction is unequivocally Mall of the Emirates where you can shop, ski, dine, bowl, ride a roller coaster and much, much more.

There are two much smaller, less busy, shopping malls in the area. Al Barsha Mall is built around its anchor store, the Union Co-op Hypermarket, and has a number of restaurants, specialty stores and children's play areas. The Lulu Centre, aptly named after its anchor store, Lulu Hypermarket, is a smaller centre with exchange houses, a pharmacy and a few jewellery stores. This centre is located directly across the street from Mall of the Emirates, and serves a great deal of weekend grocery shoppers.
