Jebel Ali Area

The district of Jebel Ali is located in the south-western part of Dubai, on the way to Abu Dhabi.

Al Furjan

This community is still under construction. When fully complete, the Al Furjan community will consist of over 4,000 homes, hotels and schools, with more than 50 hectares of parks and outdoor spaces, including sports facilities, pools and cycling trails making it a great place for families to live.

Discovery Gardens

Discovery Gardens is one of the newer developments in this area which consists of over 26,000 apartments and is split into six themed communities: Zen, Mediterranean, Contemporary, Mogul, Mesoamerican and Cactus courtyard gardens. Rents in this area are very reasonable and access to public transport and the Ibn Battuta Mall have made it a very popular community.

The Gardens

The Gardens is an older peaceful and quiet development with plenty of greenery. There are community swimming pools and kids’ playgrounds as well as tennis, basketball and volleyball courts.

The area is very convenient with easy access to the mall and metro. However, keep in mind that the community is quite large so it can be quite a trek to the grocery store.

Commercial and Industrial

Jebel Ali is mainly an industrial area and is home to the world’s largest man-made port and a free zone housing over 5,500 companies making it one of the most strategically significant areas in the emirate.

Shopping

Ibn Battuta Mall is located near The Gardens and Discovery Gardens. The mall is divided into six courts, each based on the countries that Ibn Battuta, the explorer, visited during his travels: China, India, Egypt, Tunisia, Persia and Andalusia. The mall is also home to the UAE´s very first IMAX theatre.

Although there are a few hotels in Jebel Ali, Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa is arguably the most known resort in the area. There are many activities to keep visitors entertained: golf, diving, fishing, jet skiing, seaplane flights, horseback riding and shooting.
