Ibn Battuta Mall
Dubai
The Ibn Battuta Mall is named after the 14th century explorer Ibn Battuta who spent 29 years travelling through the Middle East and Asia. The layout of the mall is unique in that it is divided into six highly individual courts, each based on the countries the explorer visited during his travels: China, India, Egypt, Tunisia, Persia and Andalusia. There are many beautifully decorated ceilings, sculptures, boats and mini displays throughout the mall.
Shopping in the mall offers a good mixture of well known brand names, international fashion and individual retailers. The China Court is home to a 21 screen cinema including UAE´s first IMAX theatre. Choose from a delicious array of cold and hot food at the food court found in Tunisia Court, as well as a couple of restaurants in China Court.
By itself, the fantastic design and novel concept of Ibn Battuta Mall is worth the visit, but make a daytrip of it and book to see an IMAX film while you´re there.
