This market runs along the Creek opposite Deira. The area is best known for its vast assortment of fabrics from the Indian subcontinent and the Far East. Parking is very limited but there is an open air car park next to Dubai Museum. It is a good place to select textiles for custom, tailor-made garments. You can also see various jewellery stores and souvenir shops selling affordable memorabilia and gimmicks. The area is lively in the evenings, particularly on weekends. It also distinctly shows a different side to the city's posh retail centres it has become synonymous with.
