Kayaking / Paddle Sports in Dubai

If you’re in Dubai and want to escape the usual hustle, hop into a kayak or grab a paddleboard. It’s a completely different way to see the city. You can paddle out at Kite Beach early in the morning when the water’s glassy and it’s cool enough not to melt your sunscreen off. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, head over to the Dubai Creek where the water feels ancient, and you’ll float past old dhows and through mangroves that feel worlds away from the city’s skyscrapers.

One thing locals love is the paddle tours through the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary. It’s not exactly well-known to tourists, and you get a chance to see flamingos up close, which is pretty wild given Dubai’s desert reputation. Just keep an eye on the tides since some spots can get shallow. And yes, most places will give you a basic safety rundown and gear, but bring water shoes. Trust me on this,those rocky creek beds aren’t fun barefoot.

If you’re staying near Jumeirah, grab a board and paddle along the coast by the Jumeirah Palm. The views of the Atlantis hotel from the water are something photos don’t quite capture right. Plus, there’s nothing like the feeling of gliding over calm water with the city skyline peeking in the background.
