KidZania
Dubai
KidZania gives kids from the ages of four to 16 a unique opportunity to become an adult for a day. The hands-on activities are both educational and entertaining, helping kids to develop vital life skills as they learn about working for a living, financial fundamentals and how society works.
On arrival kids will have to check into KidZania airport where they are issued a boarding pass and a map of the city. Not to mention a cheque for 50 KidZos, the official currency of the park. Once they have paid their cheque into the bank kids are free to roam the city as they wish.
They have 80 role-playing jobs of varying difficulties to choose from. With a bank, hospital and supermarket within the city the opportunities are endless. You can choose to be a pilot, navigate a plane, present the news as a television anchor, solve crimes with the police or cook up some delights in the kitchen as a chef.
The children will relish donning the uniform for their role and once they have completed their 'work' they will receive a salary. They can deposit their KidZos into the bank using their working debit card and buy goods and services that are available throughout the city.
The more children work, the more they earn, and the more they can experience. But there is no pressure put on the children as 'Zupervisors' act as guides for each task and provide support to help each child accomplish their task.
Parents are welcome to accompany their children but can only watch from outside each activity area. Or you can relax in a lounge within the centre, with an additional option to drop kids off and return to collect them after they have had their fill of this special form of edutainment.
Your kids will love experiencing what it's like for an adult in the real world. They will learn as they have fun, meet new friends and maybe even get an idea for what they want to do when they grow up!
