What to Do With Your Kids in Dubai

Family Fun

From bowling to bungee jumping, shooting to horseback riding, there's no shortage of activities...

What better way is there to cool off from Dubai's heat than by spending the day at a water park? Put on your bathing suits and head over to Wild Wadi or Aquaventure for a fun filled day with the kids. A full day at the water park will make sure they curl up to a proper snooze later that evening - not to mention take away fun memories for a very long time thereafter.

There’s no lack of options for this one… You can head out to The Lost Chambers Aquarium or the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo to check out unique marine life. If your kids aren’t scaredy cats, throw them in with the sharks at the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo (kids must be at least 10 years old for the Shark Dive). You can also watch a dolphin show or swim with the dolphins at the Dubai Dolphinarium or Dolphin Bay.

Looking for something different? Enjoy golf and want to get the kids interested in it too? Playaround @ Some Place Nice is a relatively new indoor neon (yes, neon) golf facility that enables the entire family -from 3 years old onward- to showcase their super-pro indoor golfing techniques. The uniqueness of the experience alone is something of a phenomenon.

If your kids have a sudden urge to put on a lot of clothes and play in the snow, at 4 degrees below zero, Ski Dubai is the place to be. They can ski, snowboard, ride a toboggan, or simply play in the snow. They’ll also get the chance to meet the penguins, or roll down the hill in a giant ball.

While we’re on the cold topic, Dubai Ice Rink is another great place to get some winter activities in. Choose from a selection of classes for your children or just head on down when the rink is open to the public. Check out this website for timings and prices.

KidZania is a child-sized replica of a real city. It has an airport, a supermarket, a bank and other amenities you find in any city. Your kids will work adult jobs and earn money, which is kept in the KidZania bank for them to spend at the supermarket. There's a breadth of different jobs to choose from including being a surgeon, firefighter, chef or actor, among many others. This is bound to keep them busy for quite some time.

The Dubai Autodrome Kartdrome offers a thrilling experience for the young ones that they are unlikely to forget any time soon. Kids Karting is only for kids and there are no adults on the track making it a lot safer for the kids. Under the expert supervision on trained drivers, kids will learn to control and maneuver their karts.

This activity might not keep you busy for the entire day but the kids are bound to be talking about it for weeks to come. iFly Dubai offers kids from age 3 and above the chance to experience skydiving in the world's first double skydiving simulator. This is great for young kids and teenagers alike. You’ll probably want to join in too. Visit their website for packages on offer.

These are just some of our favorite activities to keep the kids busy in Dubai. If you’re interested in something else, from bowling to bungee jumping, shooting to horseback riding, there’s no shortage of similar activities to choose from…
